Ralph Michael Lopez, a 34-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, tragically passed away on August 11, 2014. He was a loving husband to Mandy Lopez and a devoted father to his seven children: Giovanni, Nicholas, Alexis, Michael, Alyssa, Ralph Michael III, and Alannah Lopez. Ralph's death was the result of a shooting incident that occurred in the driveway of his South Side home. He was shot six times by Dustin Lee Osborne, who was 20 years old at the time. The incident happened after Osborne and his uncle, Gabriel Aguilar, arrived at Lopez's home to pick up two women. A brief argument ensued, during which Aguilar allegedly instructed Osborne to shoot Lopez. Osborne claimed he acted in self-defense, but no weapon was found on Lopez.
Osborne was convicted of murder in January 2017 and sentenced to 80 years in prison plus a $10,000 fine. Aguilar, who was also charged with Lopez's murder, was awaiting trial at the time. The case highlighted issues of drug use, lying, and manipulation, as Osborne was an admitted drug dealer.
