David Allegro was a 57-year-old man from Dallas, Texas, who ran his own business, Allegro Landscape Design. Friends described the father of four as an amazingly nice and popular guy. He was a graduate of Saint Bernards and Bishop Lynch schools.
On the morning of Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Allegro was outside a home in the 8100 block of Forest Hills Boulevard. While near the garage, he was assaulted by another man.
Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and transported Allegro to a local hospital.
At the hospital, medical staff discovered that Allegro had been shot. He was placed on life support but succumbed to his injuries two days later, on Thursday, March 10, 2022.
The Dallas Police Department’s Homicide Unit began an investigation and soon identified a suspect. They determined that Charles Albert Edgette, a 24-year-old White male, was responsible for the murder. The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force was tasked with his apprehension, and Edgette was taken into custody.
Edgette was charged with murder, and a magistrate was set to determine his bond. Police have not disclosed a possible motive for the attack. As of March 2022, the suspect was in custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
