On April 3, 2025, 53-year-old Gaylon Lavon Davis was shot and killed in Dallas, Texas. The incident occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. at 2800 Holmes Street, near South Boulevard. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Davis, a Black male, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the location. Initially, police had limited information regarding the circumstances of the shooting and launched an investigation to identify potential suspects.
As the investigation
progressed, authorities sought assistance from the public in locating individuals connected to the case. On April 24, Dallas police arrested 28-year-old Travoy Brown, charging him with murder. Brown’s bond was set at $200,000. The following day, two additional suspects, 23-year-old Charles Banks and 27-year-old Patrick Banks, were also taken into custody and charged with murder. All three suspects were booked into the Dallas County Jail.
Despite the arrests, law enforcement officials have not disclosed the relationship between Davis and the suspects or the motive behind the shooting. It remains unclear whether the suspects knew each other or had prior interactions with Davis. The investigation is ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and determine the events leading up to the fatal incident.
