In the early hours of a summer Friday in St. Louis, Missouri, the life of Reba Battles, a 43-year-old Caucasian female, was tragically cut short. On July 8, 2016, Battles was outside a home in the Botanical Heights neighborhood when gunfire erupted. The incident, which unfolded around 1 a.m. in the 3800 block of Folsom Avenue, also left two others injured.
According to reports, individuals in a black vehicle opened fire on the group.
While a 31-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were wounded and subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment, Battles was pronounced dead at the scene. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Division is handling the case, which remains an open and active investigation.
To date, no suspects have been publicly identified or apprehended in connection with the fatal shooting.
