Lucio Buruca, a 55-year-old Hispanic male, tragically died on July 24, 2022, in Houston, Texas. He was the owner of La Divina Auto Sales, a used car dealership located in northwest Harris County. According to reports, Buruca was shot and killed by his ex-brother-in-law, Israel Miranda, following an argument that occurred on the dealership's property.
The incident took place around 2 a.m. when deputies from the Harris County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting at the dealership.
An employee present at the scene told investigators that he, Buruca, and Miranda were drinking beer when an argument broke out. The employee hid in the back of the office when Miranda began shooting. When the employee emerged, he found Buruca unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Miranda fled the scene in a white Ford F-350 but later turned himself in to the authorities.
Miranda was charged with murder and aggravated assault. His truck and weapon have not been recovered by law enforcement. The case remains active, and Miranda is awaiting trial.
