On July 17, 2024, 29-year-old Francisco "Junior" Antonio Merino was fatally shot during a robbery at a store on Mykawa Road near Southridge Street in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred around 10:15 a.m. while Merino was working inside the store. Witnesses discovered him with gunshot wounds and called 911, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
