Yusleidy Gonzalez, a 28-year-old woman of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically lost her life on November 24, 2022, in Houston, Texas. She was killed during a horrific shooting incident at a home in the Spring Branch area on Thanksgiving night. The incident occurred shortly after Gonzalez and her boyfriend, Eric Van Uchelen, had finished their Thanksgiving dinner.
The suspect, Yonetsy Montiel Granado, who is 38 years old and the ex-husband of Yusleidy Gonzalez, allegedly barged into the home and opened fire. Granado is accused of fatally shooting Gonzalez and Van Uchelen, while also critically injuring a 15-year-old boy and a 32-year-old man who were present in the house.
Following the shooting, Granado fled the scene but later turned himself in to authorities in San Antonio the next day.
