On December 14, 2024, 14-year-old Azirya Bankhead tragically lost her life during a mass shooting at a makeshift nightclub in northeast Houston, Texas. The incident occurred around 11:20 p.m. at an unoccupied business on the 10100 block of Jensen Drive, near the Eastex Freeway. The venue, known as the Curfew Club, was hosting a pop-up party advertised on social media as the "hottest teen club in Houston," attracting a large crowd of predominantly teenage attendees.
