Cesar Montelongo, a 53-year-old Hispanic male, was fatally shot on December 24, 2022, while working as a maintenance worker at the Clayton Pointe Apartment Complex in Grand Prairie, Texas. Montelongo was on a resident's balcony checking for burst pipes due to recent freezing temperatures when the resident, believing Montelongo to be a burglar, shot him through a window. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner ruled Montelongo's death a homicide.
