William Robert McKamey, a 31-year-old Deputy Sheriff of the Anderson County Sheriff's Department in Tennessee, tragically died on December 4, 1904. He was shot and killed in front of his home near the Dossett railroad tunnel while attempting to arrest a neighbor who had shot a dog.
