Mike Wrenn, a 42-year-old male police officer of Caucasian ethnicity, died on January 1, 1908, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Officer Wrenn, along with Patrolman Orlando Lee Jarnigan, was shot and killed during a struggle with a suspect they were attempting to arrest. The suspect, a 23-year-old man, was resisting arrest due to outstanding fines owed to the city. During the altercation, the suspect managed to shoot both officers in the head, resulting in their deaths.
