On an evening in late April of 2020, the life of 24-year-old Anthony Sanford was tragically cut short in Knoxville, Tennessee. The young man was found with multiple gunshot wounds in front of a residence on Adcock Avenue. First responders rushed him to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
The Knoxville Police Department quickly launched an investigation into the homicide. Their efforts soon pointed to a suspect: 20-year-old Tomier Lundy.
A warrant for first-degree murder was issued for Lundy's arrest, and he was considered armed and dangerous. In the weeks that followed, a manhunt for Lundy ensued, with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation adding him to their Most Wanted list. The reward for information leading to his capture grew as both the TBI and the FBI offered rewards for his apprehension.
The search for Tomier Lundy extended beyond Tennessee, and in August 2020, he was located and apprehended in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department took him into custody, ending a months-long search. Following his capture, Lundy was expected to face extradition back to Knoxville to be tried for the murder of Anthony Sanford.
