William Franklin Berry, a 32-year-old male, was a Special Agent with the Alcohol Tax Unit of the United States Department of the Treasury. On March 18, 1938, Agent Berry was involved in a raid on a still operated by George Tatum in the Suck Creek Mountain range near Chattanooga, Tennessee. During the arrest, gunfire was exchanged, and George Tatum shot and killed Agent Berry with a shotgun.
