James Thomas "Tommy" Smithson Sr., aged 72, passed away on June 19, 2019, at his residence on Cayce Springs Road in Thompson's Station, TN. Born in Williamson County, Smithson Sr. was a member of the Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Marines who served in Vietnam. He was known for his love of reading, music, and debating. Smithson Sr. is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Schmidt Smithson, and his children: Amber and Wes Gomes, Allison Smithson, and Jamie Smithson.
