In Union City, Tennessee, on a Saturday night in early April, a family gathering turned into a scene of violence and loss. On the evening of April 3, 2021, shots rang out at the Eastgate Apartments. When the chaos subsided, 25-year-old Marcus Taylor, a male resident of Union City, was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Baptist Memorial Hospital in a private vehicle, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead by emergency personnel at 10:52 p.m.
