DeAries Marcel George, a 24-year-old male, was tragically shot and killed in Knoxville, Tennessee, on January 8, 2014. The incident occurred at a residence in North Knoxville, where another individual was also injured.

Responding to the shooting, the Knoxville Police Department identified Markus D. Johnson as a person of interest in the homicide. At the time of the investigation into George's death, Johnson was already in custody on unrelated charges. The nature of these prior charges has ...
