Markel DeMario Owens, a 21-year-old African American male from Jackson, Tennessee, tragically lost his life on January 15, 2014. He was a promising football player at Arkansas State University, and his untimely death sent shockwaves through his community. Owens was killed during a home invasion robbery at his residence on Walker Road.
