On September 20, 2014, Johnnie Patricia Alston, a 51-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed in her Drummonds, Tennessee, home. The community was shaken by the news of the death of Mrs. Alston, who was known as a financial analyst for the Naval Personnel Command. The events leading to her death began to unfold in the early morning hours when a distressing 911 call was made by her son.
