In the quiet town of Lebanon, Tennessee, the life of 13-year-old Casia Watkins, also known as C'asia Patton, was tragically cut short on January 5, 2015. A promising seventh-grader at Winfree Bryant Middle School, she was the victim of a drive-by shooting that sent shockwaves through the community. The incident unfolded at her home, where she was struck by gunfire and sustained injuries that would ultimately prove fatal.
The investigation into the senseless act of violence led authorities to 19-year-old Joseph Christopher Hendry Jr. He was soon identified as the primary suspect in the shooting. Following an investigation, Hendry was apprehended by U.S. Marshals. The motive and the specific circumstances that led to the shooting were central to the subsequent legal proceedings. Joseph Christopher Hendry Jr. faced a series of serious charges for his role in Casia's death.
