The Morgan County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident and conducted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the
shooting. Sheriff Glen Freytag stated that there was no indication of foul play and that all evidence pointed to a tragic accident. The investigation concluded that Trevor had accidentally shot himself. As a result of these findings, no arrests were made, and there were no suspects in connection with his death.
