On the evening of November 24, 2015, a tragic event unfolded in the Alton Park neighborhood of Chattanooga, Tennessee, that claimed the life of Monica Sherri McMillon, a 37-year-old Black woman. Ms. McMillon was inside her home on Highland Avenue when she was fatally shot in what has been described as a drive-by shooting. Although there were children present in the house at the time of the incident, she was the only person struck by the gunfire.
