In the spring of 2016, a young man's life was cut tragically short in a violent encounter in Antioch, Tennessee. Johnny Broadnax Jr., a 21-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on May 14, 2016, near the management office of the Hickory Manor Apartments on Hamilton Church Road. After being struck in the chest by gunfire, Broadnax attempted to escape in his SUV but crashed into the side of one of the apartment buildings.
