In the winter of 2016, the community of Memphis, Tennessee, was shaken by the tragic and untimely death of Donovan Mills, a 21-year-old African American man. A native of Detroit, Donovan had moved to Memphis with aspirations of higher education, enrolling as a student at LeMoyne-Owen College where he was pursuing a degree in criminal justice with the dream of one day becoming an attorney.
