In the early morning hours of December 15, 2019, a house party in the quiet community of Elsanor, near Robertsdale, Alabama, turned into a scene of tragedy. Dominique Marshall, a 21-year-old Black female known to her loved ones as 'Niquee', was fatally shot. The gathering, held at a home rented through an online platform, was attended by a large group of young people.
What was meant to be a night of celebration descended into chaos when gunfire erupted between at least two groups of partygoers.
In the ensuing panic, Dominique was struck by a bullet. Her friends, in a desperate attempt to save her, tried to drive her to a nearby hospital. Their efforts were in vain. About a mile and a half from the party, they pulled over to await emergency services, but Dominique succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit was called in to investigate the homicide, collecting evidence and interviewing numerous witnesses who were present at the chaotic event.
Despite the passage of time, Dominique Marshall's murder remains unsolved. As of late 2023, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with her death. The case stands as a painful and unresolved chapter for her family and the community. Investigators have made repeated appeals to the public for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case. Dominique's father has also publicly pleaded for anyone with knowledge of the events of that night to come forward, holding onto hope that justice will one day be served for his daughter. The investigation remains active as authorities continue to seek the information that will bring closure to Dominique's loved ones.
