Velma Paulette Garrett, a 67-year-old woman from Jackson, Tennessee, tragically lost her life on March 9, 2017. She was found inside her home on the 400 block of South Massachusetts Street, near the intersection of Fifth Street. The incident was part of a murder-suicide. The suspect, Christopher Armstrong, a 23-year-old man from Milan, was found dead in the woods behind Garrett's home with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
