On July 16, 2017, the city of Memphis, Tennessee, was shaken by the tragic loss of 36-year-old African American male, Mario Lofton. In the Binghampton neighborhood, Mario was discovered lying on a sidewalk in front of a house on Faxon Avenue, where he had desperately sought help after being shot.
