In the winter of 2022, the life of 30-year-old De’Anthony Seymour was cut short in a burst of violence at a Memphis lounge. On the evening of Monday, December 12th, Seymour was at the J&B Lounge located at 1281 East Shelby Drive when a dispute escalated into a fatal shooting. The incident left Seymour with a gunshot wound to the chest, and despite being rushed to Regional One Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting led Memphis Police to identify Marco Jamison as the primary suspect. According to police reports, the altercation began inside the lounge and tragically concluded with Jamison allegedly firing the deadly shots. Following an investigation, a warrant was issued for Jamison's arrest. He was subsequently apprehended and taken into custody.
Marco Jamison faced serious charges in connection with the death of De’Anthony Seymour. He was charged with second-degree murder, convicted felon in possession of a handgun, and tampering with evidence. The community was left to grapple with the sudden and violent loss of a man described as a funny, loving, and caring family man who was devoted to his children, nieces, nephews, and other family members.
