In the autumn of 2017, the life of a young Memphis man, Malik Rainey, was tragically cut short by gun violence. On the evening of October 26, 2017, gunshots echoed in the Frayser neighborhood, an event that would ultimately lead to Rainey's untimely death. The specific circumstances of the shooting remain somewhat obscured, but it is understood that the fatal encounter occurred away from where his body was eventually found.
