In the early hours of a Friday morning in a South Memphis neighborhood, a 67-year-old man named James Brown was tragically shot and killed. The incident, which has sent ripples of fear and sorrow through the community, occurred around 6:30 a.m. off South Parkway and Florida on August 7, 2024. Memphis Police officers responded to a call about the shooting and found Mr. Brown suffering from a gunshot wound.
