In the early morning hours of May 2, 2018, the quiet of a Springfield, Tennessee neighborhood was shattered by a single gunshot. Responding to a 911 call around 3:45 a.m., deputies from the Robertson County Sheriff's Office arrived at Stevenson Lane to a grim discovery. There, lying in the roadway in front of a residence, was the body of 56-year-old Stanley Duane Garrett Sr., a white male.
He had sustained a single gunshot wound to his upper chest and was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical responders.
