On June 23, 2022, Martelle Black, a 29-year-old male from Springfield, Tennessee, was found deceased in an incident that Springfield Police Department is investigating as a fatal shooting. The incident occurred on Holly Circle, and upon arrival, officers discovered Martelle Black dead at the scene. The police have stated that this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the general public.
