In the summer of 2018, a dispute between coworkers in Memphis, Tennessee, escalated to a fatal conclusion, ending the life of 23-year-old Tyrone Colbert. The deadly encounter unfolded on the morning of Saturday, July 7th, near the intersection of Democrat Road and Tchulahoma Road, an area close to a FedEx hub where both men were employed.
The conflict, which had been ongoing, culminated in a shootout between Colbert and another man.
During the exchange of gunfire, Colbert sustained fatal injuries. He was a graduate of Memphis Academy of Health Sciences High School and was described by those who knew him as a funny and outgoing family-oriented individual who was focused on building a good life for himself.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, Memphis Police responded to the scene and detained one individual in connection with the incident. However, after an initial investigation into the circumstances of the shootout, no charges were filed against the person who was taken into custody. The case did not proceed to a trial, and no convictions have been made in relation to Tyrone Colbert's death.
