Christian Andrew Rucker, a 56-year-old male, died on Saturday, September 29, 2018, in Knoxville, Tennessee. His death was the result of a shooting that occurred around 12:58 p.m. in front of a residence on Sandusky Road.
According to reports from the Knoxville Police Department, the shooting followed an argument between Rucker and another man. After the altercation escalated, the other individual discharged a firearm. Rucker was found lying in the grass with injuries from the gunshot.
He was transported to UT Medical Center for treatment but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The man who shot Rucker remained at the scene. He secured his weapon and placed a call to 911 to report the incident, waiting for law enforcement officers to arrive. Upon their arrival, he was taken into custody and transported to the Safety Building for questioning by investigators.
After consultation with the District Attorney General's Office, the man who shot Rucker was released from custody. At the time of the initial reports, the investigation into the shooting was still active and ongoing. There have been no subsequent public announcements regarding any arrests or charges filed in connection with the death of Christian Andrew Rucker.
