In the spring of 2019, the life of 18-year-old Mikeal Grace was tragically cut short in Memphis, Tennessee. On the evening of March 29, 2019, a shooting incident occurred in the 3900 block of Camelot Lane, involving multiple individuals. Grace was one of the victims of this violent encounter and sustained critical injuries.
Following the shooting, the young Black/African American male was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Despite medical efforts, Mikeal Grace succumbed to his injuries a week later, passing away on April 5, 2019. His death was officially ruled a homicide, prompting a thorough investigation by local law enforcement.
The investigation led to the identification and arrest of two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting. Marlez Wilson and Michael Grace were taken into custody and subsequently charged with first-degree murder. Additionally, Michael Grace faced a charge of first-degree murder in the perpetration of a robbery. Wilson's case was directed to the juvenile court system. The arrests brought a measure of progress to a case that highlighted the ongoing concerns about violent crime within the Memphis community.
