Tri Minh Nguyen, a 36-year-old Vietnamese-American man, tragically lost his life on March 29, 2016, in Houston, Texas. Nguyen was the owner/operator of Wahoo's Fish N Wings, a restaurant located near Fondren Road and West Airport Boulevard. His death was the result of a fatal shooting during an attempted robbery.
On the day of the incident, a 16-year-old suspect, later identified as a 17-year-old male, entered the restaurant wearing brown pants and a gray hoodie.
He was also wearing a ski mask. Surveillance footage showed the suspect approaching the counter, pulling out a pistol, and demanding money from Nguyen.
