In the early afternoon of a Tuesday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, the life of 22-year-old Oscar Lee Eiland Jr., a Black male, was tragically cut short. On September 10, 2019, at approximately 1:26 p.m., police responded to a call of a man suffering from a gunshot wound at the Campus Villa Apartments on Greenland Drive. Upon arrival, officers found Eiland and he was quickly transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
