In North Memphis, a family and a community were left reeling from the sudden and violent death of Sierra Parson, a 31-year-old African American woman. On December 8, 2019, Parson, a mother of ten with another child on the way, was shot and killed in her home on Marble Avenue. Known for her generosity, she was a neighborhood hairdresser who often styled hair for free.
