On February 26, 2020, Gelante M. Kneeland, a 23-year-old African American male, was tragically lost to gun violence in Memphis, Tennessee. His passing was noted among other Americans killed by firearms on that date.
In the years following his death, there have been significant developments in Memphis related to violent crimes and subsequent arrests. In December 2024, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office arrested eight men in connection with a series of crimes, including theft and homicide.
