Devin Andre Wilson Jr., a 27-year-old African American man from Memphis, Tennessee, tragically died on May 14, 2017. Devin, a military veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force, including deployments in Korea and Iraq, was killed while trying to break up a domestic dispute at a Whitehaven IHOP. According to police reports, Wilson intervened when a man choked his ex-girlfriend, who was an employee at the restaurant. Despite his efforts to protect the woman, Wilson was shot and killed.
