In the autumn of 2020, the life of 21-year-old Tyree Ray was cut short in a burst of violence on the streets of Chattanooga, Tennessee. On the evening of September 30th, police responded to a call in the vicinity of 900 Dodson Avenue. There, they discovered a 20-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound that was not considered life-threatening.
As officers were attending to the injured man, they received a report of another victim a short distance away on Windsor Street.
This second individual was identified as Tyree Ray. Investigators later concluded that both men had been wounded in the same incident. It is believed that after being shot, Ray fled to Windsor Street where he was subsequently found. Both he and the other man were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Tragically, Tyree Ray succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
Born in Chattanooga on October 10, 1998, Tyree Ray was a graduate of Brainerd High School. His death left behind a large and grieving family. As of the latest available information, no suspects have been publicly identified or arrested in connection with the shooting. The case remains an unsolved homicide.
