In the early morning hours of October 17, 2020, the life of 17-year-old Fredorikus Tysean Perry was tragically cut short in Bolivar, Tennessee. A student at Bolivar Central High School, where he was a member of both the basketball and football teams, Perry was known by his coaches as a quiet and well-mannered young man who was eager to learn and improve.
Shortly after 3:00 a.m., officers from the Bolivar Police Department were dispatched to the 100 block of Morocco Road following a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Perry lying in a driveway, having sustained apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist the Bolivar Police Department with the investigation. Through their joint efforts, investigators were able to identify a suspect in the shooting. Later that same morning, with the assistance of the Hardeman County Sheriff's Department, they arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with Perry's death. The suspect was also a student at Bolivar Central High School and was taken to a juvenile detention facility to await a hearing in Hardeman County.
