In the early morning hours of the Fourth of July in 2023, the life of 28-year-old Calviontae K. McNeal of Bolivar, Tennessee, was tragically cut short. McNeal, a male, was one of two victims in a fatal shooting that occurred in the 500 block of Johnson Street in Bolivar. The incident also claimed the life of 27-year-old Xavier A. Jones, another resident of Bolivar.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation was called to assist the Bolivar Police Department in the investigation of the double homicide. Their collaborative efforts, which also involved multiple other law enforcement agencies, led them to identify a suspect in the deadly shooting. Investigators developed information that pointed to 22-year-old Courderrious K-Von Wright as the individual responsible for the deaths of McNeal and Jones.
In January 2024, a Hardeman County Grand Jury returned indictments charging Wright with two counts of First-Degree Murder. At the time the indictment was served, Wright was already incarcerated at the Hardeman County Jail on unrelated charges.
