On the evening of October 28, 2020, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, a violent home invasion on Standifer Gap Road resulted in the death of 20-year-old Antoine Deandre Allen. The incident unfolded after what was reported to be a drug transaction at a nearby gas station earlier in the evening. Following this transaction, suspects allegedly forced the homeowner at gunpoint to his residence.
During the course of the robbery at the home, an exchange of gunfire occurred between the homeowner and
the intruders. In the ensuing chaos, Allen, who was one of the individuals involved in the robbery, was shot and killed in the kitchen of the home. The case remained open for a significant period, with investigators working to identify those responsible for the fatal shooting.
A breakthrough in the investigation came from an unlikely source: a rap video. A video titled 'Long Live Bam,' a reference to Allen's nickname, 'BAM,' was discovered by law enforcement. The video not only memorialized Allen but also contained threats directed at other individuals and depicted gang members arriving in a Chevrolet Malibu to commit a robbery, which matched the vehicle police had linked to the crime scene.
This piece of evidence led investigators to Travian Reic, who was allegedly associated with a gang known as the 'Get Back Gang' or 'GBG.' Reic was apprehended in Nashville on Halloween night and subsequently returned to Hamilton County to face a series of charges related to the incident. He has been charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, and aggravated assault.
