In the city of Jackson, Tennessee, a domestic argument tragically escalated to a fatal conclusion, ending the life of 44-year-old Latonia Renee Hardin. The woman's husband, Atlas Pittman Jr., was identified as the suspect in her death.
On that tragic day, what began as a verbal dispute between the couple took a violent turn. Pittman allegedly went outside to smoke a cigarette and returned with a gun. He then shot his stepson in the hand before turning the weapon on his wife.
Hardin was shot multiple times as she lay on the kitchen floor. When law enforcement arrived at their Arlington Avenue home, they discovered a chaotic scene. Pittman was being held down in the front yard by the children who were present during the incident. One of the children, Hardin's stepson who had also been shot, was heard by police screaming, 'He shot my momma!'.
Following the incident, Atlas Pittman Jr. was taken into custody and faced charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault. He was subsequently denied bond.
