On January 1, 2023, at approximately 1:30 a.m., 19-year-old Shmyia Lashea Manley was fatally shot at the north end of Fair Acres Cove in Jackson, Tennessee. Emergency responders transported her to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
