Nicholas R. Vassallo, a 21-year-old male of White ethnicity from Maple Glen, PA, tragically died on October 5, 2015, in Manheim Township, Lancaster County. His death was the result of a drug deal gone wrong. Vassallo was shot multiple times by Robert Peters IV, 18, during an altercation that occurred when Peters and his accomplices attempted to rob Vassallo.
The incident began when Peters and his associates planned to sell marijuana to Vassallo but instead gave him oregano.
During the exchange, a dispute arose over the money, leading to a physical altercation in the car. Peters fired multiple shots, killing Vassallo, who fell out of the car and died on the street.
Following the incident, Peters fled the scene but was later arrested and charged with third-degree murder, robbery, and gun charges. He pleaded guilty to his role in the killing and was sentenced to 15 to 40 years in state prison. Additionally, three other individuals—Kalina Green, 19, Matthew Brandisi, 27, and a 17-year-old boy—were arrested and charged in connection with the homicide. They were accused of conspiring to rob Vassallo and delivering counterfeit controlled substances.
