On March 5, 2021, Edgardo Cruz-Reyes, a 23-year-old man, was fatally shot at the Hookah City Café on Nolensville Pike in Nashville, Tennessee. The incident occurred during a physical altercation that erupted inside the hookah bar, reportedly stemming from an argument about a woman. Witnesses stated that a gunman opened fire inside the bar, and Cruz-Reyes was critically injured in the parking lot.
