On December 30, 2016, Trel Ahviante Gates, a 23-year-old African American male, was fatally shot at the Chimney Top Apartments located at 289 Chimney Top Drive in Antioch, Tennessee. According to police reports, officers responded to a call of gunfire at approximately 5:30 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Trel Gates lying in a breezeway near apartment 295, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
