Kevin Niyibizi, a 16-year-old male of African American ethnicity, tragically died on March 17, 2021, in Antioch, Tennessee. The incident occurred inside the home of 17-year-old Eric Ishimwe, who was later charged with criminal homicide. According to police reports, Niyibizi and Ishimwe were handling and playing with a gun that Niyibizi had brought into the home. During this time, Ishimwe pulled the trigger, and the gun fired, fatally wounding Niyibizi in the chest.
