In the spring of 2021, a young man's life was cut tragically short in Nashville, Tennessee. Juerno Brown Jr., a 19-year-old male, was visiting with friends inside an apartment at 3800 Clarksville Pike on the evening of April 21st when a single gunshot ended his life. At the time of the incident, at least two firearms were present in the room.
According to investigations by Homicide Unit detectives, another 19-year-old was handling one of the guns when it discharged, striking and fatally
wounding Brown. In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, the individuals in the apartment who did not reside there fled the scene.
Shortly after the incident, the 19-year-old who was reportedly handling the firearm at the time of the fatal shot presented himself to police headquarters. During questioning, he claimed that the gun had discharged unintentionally. As detectives continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding Brown's death to determine if the shooting was accidental, no charges were immediately filed.
